Finding Remedy. Not Fault.

Hi Netizens

You must have read many articles till date on various universal topics of your interest. Today I am going to share my experience and learning as a Social Media Analyst to Campaign Lead at OMLogic.

The basic need for this was having a leadership quality in me but there is a famous saying.

'Leaders aren't born they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. And that's the price we'll have to pay to achieve that goal, or any goal'. - Vince Lombardi

This indirectly or directly reflected my story. Initially I started with a zero but through a span of 30 months I grew everyday slowly and steadily and groomed myself into the person I wanted to be or ambitioned to be. Leadership is not just limited to business, government and other services based societies or organizations. Ultimately it’s about being a leader to ourselves that we can lead others, for with one, we can understand the needs of other people. Leadership and management in a reductionist sense ultimately is about one thing: satisfactory completion of a task and that too as quickly as possible along with making the experience better. Analyze your own strengths and weaknesses in order to explore what leadership is. In business this is often done in SWOT analysis, known as Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats. Be natural and be Humane in practise and analysis. We should learn from our failures and if possible then from others failures also and train our followers so that they do not repeat the same mistakes at least.

'The challenge of leadership is to be strong, but not rude; be kind, but not weak; be bold, but not  bully; be thoughtful, but not lazy; be humble, but not timid; be proud, but not arrogant; have humour, but without folly'.― Jim Rohn

The most important quality that a leader must possess is having faith in their colleagues and employees. Then only people will trust you and when people trust you they are more willing to give their best, as they know that they always get your best. People want to be assured that their trust, followed closely by their respect is being placed in safe place and that they are indeed wise to follow where you lead.

When something goes wrong, great leaders step up and acknowledge their part in it, and don’t fall into the trap of trying to shift blame elsewhere. They’ll focus on fixing the problem not fixing blame. High performances leaders fix problem, find solutions, and don’t fix blame.

'A good leader is a person who takes a little more than his share of the blame and a little less than his share of the credit'. - John C. Maxwell

Also there is one more fundamental that a good leader must keep in mind always. Good leaders make it easy for their people to interact with them and regularly make use of their talents and strengths for the benefit of the organization. They have to be passionate always to keep others also compelled to work by.

If you are the leader in charge, you have the authority to make the decision, but also the responsibility to do so and take the consequences. Authority and responsibly go hand in hand. I had also gone through this phase of utmost pressure during my journey with a feeling of having authority but no powers in hand and acting like a puppet but due to the moral support of my dear colleagues I was able to go through it also. Meetings and the team discussions are the most important part of any organizations smooth working as it provides a platform where a leader through the body language of a person can judge when people are stirring trouble, wasting time or thinking about things that are not practical and like a poker player in order to keep confidence.

Out of all my small experiences the basic conclusion that I derive is that if all the members of a society understand the basic thing that ‘United we stand and Divide we fall’ and help each other in meeting deadlines along with completing their work beautifully on time that too perfectly then no one can stop an organization to reach zenith.
