You're here for a reason.

I've never imagined that I will be writing such stuff but this is the power of LOVE… power of SACRIFICE.

Sacrifice is needed for love to exist. It eventually makes a relationship between people easier. In all relationships at one point a sacrifice is made. Sometimes it is a very small sacrifice such as changing a schedule other times sacrifice is so great you must give up your loved one knowing that it will hurt you greatly, but in the end make the other person happy. I myself have made this kind of sacrifice & witnessed people sacrificing for love, family and friends. I have also seen sacrifice in the movies and books. It's something that moves people when they witness it and makes them think. In all societies this theme is found in literature, movies and music.

What is love?  Have you ever taken the time to let your mind wonder about love?  Love can be painful, love can be sad, but more than anything love should bring happiness.  When you love someone, whether you make them mad, upset, cry or hurt them, true love will never be able to be replaced.  Love is sacrifice. Have you ever thought about falling in love?  Have you ever thought about what it means to be in love, and then suddenly you are faced with crashing waves of emotions and discover that the sun is sometimes burning.  Lately, that is what I have been dealing with.  Lately, that is what has been tearing me up inside.  No one has ever said that love was going to be easy, but we give up on love a lot of times.  We go looking elsewhere.   Sometimes you have those who are quite content with being seconds.  You have those who like to run their mouths not knowing what to keep to themselves, and then sometimes you have those who will laugh and talk in your face and make sarcastic comments every time you come around.  Love is greater than any thought, idea, or conception of meaning, yet it is the reason why we have thoughts and why meanings are sought.  Love is the one key that can unlock all things.  It can reveal the deepest mystery, and it will soften the hardest hearts.  It places a heart of heaven in you.  It reveals itself through the art of giving and the sharing of one’s feelings.  Love is a GIFT.  A gift that should not be played or toyed with.  Frankly I am writing this to let the world know that I am in Love.  Love has been painful to me.  I was even at the point where I attempted to take my own life.  No one ever knew, and no one ever suspected until the day it happened.  I appeared to be happy to outsiders, but I was hurting inside.  That is when I really found out who my true friends were.  I can say today, I only have three whom I trust completely and believe that their snide comments are just for fun.  I am here for a reason today.  That reason, God has not shown me yet.  My life, due to love, has been a constant battle but I will not give up on it.  This is the second time I have let myself fall in love, and this time caught me by surprise.  This is indeed it for me.  If it so happens that things work themselves out, I will be the happiest guy in the world.  I have learned from my mistakes and the mistakes I made I want make them again (It reminds me of the song 'Treading Water').  I can honestly say, through all problems, where there is a will there is a way.  To the one I am in love with, I have selected the path you made me understand to walk on & waiting for you to choose. The day we met it was like a dream, our eyes locked and our souls beamed.  You gave me new hope, showed me what love really means.  I love to see the sparkling smile on your face and your emerald eyes gleam as a new morning’s sunrise.  Each time I see you, my heart skips a beat.  I accept you for who you are, not who you may have tried to be.  Yes, we have had our problems, but through it all we have been able to remain friends.  At one point, the sight of you made me feel like I was on top of the world, then things fall down and the sight of you brought me to tears.  Through all the pain, the problems, the struggles, the lies and deceit, you are my joy happiness.  Being with you makes my life complete.  Love is sacrifice.  Now, you can understand things from my point of view.  It was painful, and I cried writing this article but in some instance I am free.  Love, I believe, is the greatest feeling in this whole world.

Book Review- Master Of The Game By Sidney Sheldon

'Master of the Game' is a critically acclaimed and usually acknowledged as the best among the novels by Sidney Sheldon. It is a plot fabricated as intricately as a spider’s web.

It starts with Kate’s ninetieth birthday and then goes into flashback with Jamie McGregor’s hunt for diamonds and spans over six generations in the lives of the fictional McGregor/Blackwell family. The beginning of the plot is captivating but as the story moves on and the focus gets shifted to the daughter Kate and grand-daughters Eve and Alexandra it somehow loses a bit of its charm. It depicts the life and death, marriage and divorce, pain and suffering of all the characters along with some intimate scenes. The book closes abruptly at Kate’s ninetieth birthday with all her relatives present and even after manipulating, pleasing, loving, killing and hating the people around her for business she still feels she had acted proper.

It indicates the callousness and voracity of the people during the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. Similar to Sheldon’s other novels the plot is fast moving and story-line is thrilling but it is like the same gift being wrapped differently. Though lacking in a plot that moves you, read it for Sidney Sheldon’s ability to depict a picture with a kind of unique elegance that stays with you for a long time.

Blue Film Can Turn You Blue - KFC Fiery Tongue Sticky Situation

When I look back to my childhood days at my clandestine juvenile deeds, I laugh over them. This retrospection brings me to a conclusion, that I am equally scared of being caught at my surreptitious undertakings even today.
I am doubtful if Childhood is innocent but Children are undoubtedly curious.
So Behind the drape of this innocence one day we children decided to put an end to our curiosity.

I was in class nine when I and my two friends Mahak and Tamana were in the name of combined studies doing the Gtalk aka girls talk at my home on Sunday. After we were short of topics to discuss, which was the rarest of chance, Tamana interjected, “hey let me show you something girls” she said as she took out science book from her bag, flipped through its pages and picked up a CD between her thumb and fingers.

“Guess what’s in it?” she said rotating the disk.

“What?” I and Mahak said together.

“It’s a blue film” she said.

“What?” I said equally out of surprise and happiness.

“Yes” she said in self-appreciation.
“Where did you get this from?” Mahak asked with eyes wide open.

“Jatin gave me” she said. Jatin was our senior in school who Tamana was recently seeing.

“How is a blue film? What is exactly shown in it?” I asked innocently brimming with curiosity.

“I don’t know. I haven’t seen it yet. He has given this to me just today only.” She said.

“Can we watch it now?” asked Mahak looking at me.

I was floored. “Now? At my home?” I shouted in a low tone.

“Yes” she said.

“The computer is not working.” I said. By the way, it was actually not working.

“Oh!” both sighed in regret.

We all cooled down and looked back in our text books. The idea of watching a blue film was so fascinating to me that I myself was thinking of a way to watch it anyhow.

Apart from three of us only papa was at home. I heard him snoring and idea clicked my mind.

“I have an idea. We can watch it on TV.” I said to them.

“Really?” Tamana jumped out of the bed.

“I’ll bolt papa’s room and then we can watch it.” I said.

“Ok” they both agreed.

I went into papa’s room with cat feet to make sure that he was sleeping. I came out and bolted the door.

Things were peaceful now. It was now time to take feel of a movie. So I went into the kitchen and prepared “act 2” popcorns while they were busy starting the DVD. A bowl of popcorns, three glasses of cold drink and three friends on a couch; a perfect audience for a perfect movie! It was now time to press the play button.

“Ready gals” I said.

Bang! Bang!

“Open the door, open the door” papa was shouting from the room and banging the door hard.

“Papa” I jumped off the sofa with eyes wide open.

“Open the door” he was shouting from inside.

“Finish your cold drink quickly, switch off the TV. and take the popcorns in the room” I said to them with my teeth clenched. Now even cold drink could have been taken inside the room with popcorns but generally only half a mind works in such situations.

Papa’s appeal to open the door was getting louder and my heartbeat too.
Finally TV was off; glasses were in the kitchen and both of them in my room with pop-corns.

I unbolted the door.

“What was going on?” papa asked with his eyes red.

“Nothing papa” I said trying to be innocent.

“Why was my room bolted?” he asked.

“I don’t know” I said.

“It got bolted itself?” he said scoffing at it.

“Oh! Yes, I bolted it.” I said posing to memorise. “Actually I was getting chips from the kitchen and dishes were causing mayhem in the kitchen. I thought you might get disturbed by the sound, so I bolted.” I said not knowing if he’d be convinced by such a lame reason.

He looked at me but didn’t say anything. He walked and sat on the sofa.
“Put the TV on” he said.

I switched the TV on and saw that had we never turned the DVD player off.
“Oh! Why is this player on?” I said to myself loud enough for papa to know why I was bending down.

“Don’t turn it off. Let it be on. I’ll watch a movie” he said.

“Which movie papa? I’ll put the CD” I said like an obedient daughter.

“You go and study. I’ll see myself” he said as he got up.

“You sit papa, I’ll put it for you” I said.

“You go and study. I’ll manage” he said. He was standing at my head now.

Oh god! I got no idea what to do. I saw Mahak peeping from the door and having maths book in her hand.

“Papa, before you start the movie, we have a maths problem. Can you solve it?” I asked.

“Bring it.” He said.

“Mahak, give the book to papa” I said. Mahak looked blankly at me and stood stupefied.

“Mahak, papa will solve that problem of circles. Give him the book”

“Oh yes!” she finally understood. We walked to him and handed over the book.
“Pen? Paper?” he said.

“I’ll bring” I said.

I went inside the room and picked up a pen and notebook.

I deliberately took a long path to reach papa by crossing the TV stand. I dropped the notebook just near the TV. and I bent down to pick the notebook i.e. get the CD out the DVD player. As I was about to press the “open” button, the light went off.

No use of using the long way. I picked up the notebook and reached papa. While papa was explaining the question the electricity was back. The question was over and he relaxed on the couch putting his hands behind his head looking at the TV.

I held Mahak’s hand and made her walk to TV and I again dropped the notebook. It was repetitive but nothing else I could think off. We both bent down. Two people were enough to cover the DVD player so that papa can’t see what’s going on.

I quickly took out the CD.

“Keep it in the book” whispered Mahak.

“Shhh..” I said. I slid it inside my pullover tucking it to the waist of my jeans.
I knew my father. “Bring me the book.” He said. “I’ll tell you which the important questions are.”

Thank god we didn’t hide it in the book. I stood behind mahak so that papa doesn’t even make out anything hard on my belly.

The question was over.

And see the fun, His mood changed and now he was watching news.

We came back to the room and took a long sigh of relief.

“Keep your CD.” I threw the CD at Tamana who was sitting on my bed. “I will not even think of watching a blue film again. I have myself turned blue out of nervousness.”

She kept the CD back into her school bag. It was next day caught by our class teacher in school. What happened with her then is all together a different story.
But after watching a blue film now I know watching people doing sex isn’t worth the fear I went through that day but…Doing is definitely worth it.

Save Tigers Love Them Save Earth

~~>Today I saw a commercial on TV. It said that there are only 1000+ tigers left in India. The first thought that came to my mind is that we will now be telling only bedtime stories to our children after 5 years about tigers!!!!
This is very depressing and should be given a very serious thought. If you think that nothing can be done or a single person can’t help, then this post is for you!

Tigers Will Get Extinct Someday, So What?

~~>Let me first start of with what will happen if there will be no tigers left.
Think of those days of your school when your sciences teacher used to teach you about food chain. We all know that tigers are predators, they hunt herbivorous (vegetarian) animals. Now if there are no tigers left then herbivorous will grow in population. If there is blast in there population, then there will be more animals feeding on vegetation (trees, plants, grass). And do keep in mind they eat like hell (try googling it if you want proof). Then obviously scarcity in vegetation will arise, as a result these animals will start dying.
So, In the end we are left with no forests (or very little forests) and no animals (or very few animals). This will lead to less tress and then eventually to less oxygen, more carbon dioxide. Planet will become more warmer. Now combine this with global warming, which is already happening.
End result? I won’t be surprised if our planet Earth converts into second Mars in our solar system. In practical sense, this won’t be happening overnight, but if negligence continues, then I am sure that in next 50 years we will have more deserts than Earth has ever seen before.

What Can A Single Person Do?

~~>Obviously a single person can’t do it all by himself unless he is a superman. But still you can contribute and believe me, it helps.
You can do following to help Mother Nature:
>>Stop using polybags
>>Use recycled paper for rough work
>>Don’t burn paper or wood items, rather give them to a recycling center
>>Switch off your vehicle’s engines at red light
>>Ask your mother, sister, wife not to buy things which are derived from tigers like tiger’s skin purse
>>Be a very responsible tourist, don’t feed tigers or any other wild animal
>>Don’t leave garbage in forest
>>Ask your parents, friends, children, institute-office staff to utilize paper efficiently. Don’t leave white spaces much.

Above points are not only related to tigers, but to environment also.

A Quick Fact

~~>At the turn of the 20th century, according to sources, India had an estimated 40,000 tigers in the wild. In 2002, based on pug mark census, this number was 3,642. As per the monitoring exercise by Wildlife Institute of India in association with National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), Government of India using camera traps, in 2008 we were left with only 1,411 tigers. This number is so small that they will be gone soon if we don’t wake up to the crisis.

In the end, may be you have heard these things everywhere, but merely listening to these things will solve nothing. Start acting now and I bet you, so don’t take polythene bag next time and you will feel better.

Regards

Rohit Rajpal
