Oh My GOOD

I'm fighting to grab a bite from my plate today. It's not because I don’t want to eat, nor the dish is bad. It's a personal battle with depression and mental strain. I don't write this as an excuse. I write it for the people who are battling the same things. I know that I’m not alone nor weak, nor a quitter. Bad things ensure that good is around and remember you’ll make it.

A bullet can only be fired by pulling the trigger backwards. Similarly, when life drags you back with difficulties, it means that it’s going to shoot you up into something wonderful. So, we all have to learn keep pushing through setbacks. There are things we don’t want to happen but have to accept, things we don’t want to know but have to learn, and people we can’t live without but have to let go.

Faced this recently that it’s not easy to accept at times & still have a sad heart, but looking forward and holding my head up.
Learned this recently that I can't let the changes in life keep us down or look back with regret, but keep the good memories close to your heart and any thought that doesn't make you smile leave behind.

Nothing whatever, whether great or small, can happen to us, without anyone's ordering and permission. There is no such thing as ‘chance’, ‘luck’ or ‘accident’ in the life’s journey through this world. And all things are ‘working together’ if we believe in ourselves.
In the end, I am so happy & grateful that the river of life keeps on flowing. It flows right through me into extravagant expression. Never ending good now comes to me in endless ways.

Cheers to life!

Finding Remedy. Not Fault.

Hi Netizens

You must have read many articles till date on various universal topics of your interest. Today I am going to share my experience and learning as a Social Media Analyst to Campaign Lead at OMLogic.

The basic need for this was having a leadership quality in me but there is a famous saying.

'Leaders aren't born they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. And that's the price we'll have to pay to achieve that goal, or any goal'. - Vince Lombardi

This indirectly or directly reflected my story. Initially I started with a zero but through a span of 30 months I grew everyday slowly and steadily and groomed myself into the person I wanted to be or ambitioned to be. Leadership is not just limited to business, government and other services based societies or organizations. Ultimately it’s about being a leader to ourselves that we can lead others, for with one, we can understand the needs of other people. Leadership and management in a reductionist sense ultimately is about one thing: satisfactory completion of a task and that too as quickly as possible along with making the experience better. Analyze your own strengths and weaknesses in order to explore what leadership is. In business this is often done in SWOT analysis, known as Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats. Be natural and be Humane in practise and analysis. We should learn from our failures and if possible then from others failures also and train our followers so that they do not repeat the same mistakes at least.

'The challenge of leadership is to be strong, but not rude; be kind, but not weak; be bold, but not  bully; be thoughtful, but not lazy; be humble, but not timid; be proud, but not arrogant; have humour, but without folly'.― Jim Rohn

The most important quality that a leader must possess is having faith in their colleagues and employees. Then only people will trust you and when people trust you they are more willing to give their best, as they know that they always get your best. People want to be assured that their trust, followed closely by their respect is being placed in safe place and that they are indeed wise to follow where you lead.

When something goes wrong, great leaders step up and acknowledge their part in it, and don’t fall into the trap of trying to shift blame elsewhere. They’ll focus on fixing the problem not fixing blame. High performances leaders fix problem, find solutions, and don’t fix blame.

'A good leader is a person who takes a little more than his share of the blame and a little less than his share of the credit'. - John C. Maxwell

Also there is one more fundamental that a good leader must keep in mind always. Good leaders make it easy for their people to interact with them and regularly make use of their talents and strengths for the benefit of the organization. They have to be passionate always to keep others also compelled to work by.

If you are the leader in charge, you have the authority to make the decision, but also the responsibility to do so and take the consequences. Authority and responsibly go hand in hand. I had also gone through this phase of utmost pressure during my journey with a feeling of having authority but no powers in hand and acting like a puppet but due to the moral support of my dear colleagues I was able to go through it also. Meetings and the team discussions are the most important part of any organizations smooth working as it provides a platform where a leader through the body language of a person can judge when people are stirring trouble, wasting time or thinking about things that are not practical and like a poker player in order to keep confidence.

Out of all my small experiences the basic conclusion that I derive is that if all the members of a society understand the basic thing that ‘United we stand and Divide we fall’ and help each other in meeting deadlines along with completing their work beautifully on time that too perfectly then no one can stop an organization to reach zenith.

You're here for a reason.

I've never imagined that I will be writing such stuff but this is the power of LOVE… power of SACRIFICE.

Sacrifice is needed for love to exist. It eventually makes a relationship between people easier. In all relationships at one point a sacrifice is made. Sometimes it is a very small sacrifice such as changing a schedule other times sacrifice is so great you must give up your loved one knowing that it will hurt you greatly, but in the end make the other person happy. I myself have made this kind of sacrifice & witnessed people sacrificing for love, family and friends. I have also seen sacrifice in the movies and books. It's something that moves people when they witness it and makes them think. In all societies this theme is found in literature, movies and music.

What is love?  Have you ever taken the time to let your mind wonder about love?  Love can be painful, love can be sad, but more than anything love should bring happiness.  When you love someone, whether you make them mad, upset, cry or hurt them, true love will never be able to be replaced.  Love is sacrifice. Have you ever thought about falling in love?  Have you ever thought about what it means to be in love, and then suddenly you are faced with crashing waves of emotions and discover that the sun is sometimes burning.  Lately, that is what I have been dealing with.  Lately, that is what has been tearing me up inside.  No one has ever said that love was going to be easy, but we give up on love a lot of times.  We go looking elsewhere.   Sometimes you have those who are quite content with being seconds.  You have those who like to run their mouths not knowing what to keep to themselves, and then sometimes you have those who will laugh and talk in your face and make sarcastic comments every time you come around.  Love is greater than any thought, idea, or conception of meaning, yet it is the reason why we have thoughts and why meanings are sought.  Love is the one key that can unlock all things.  It can reveal the deepest mystery, and it will soften the hardest hearts.  It places a heart of heaven in you.  It reveals itself through the art of giving and the sharing of one’s feelings.  Love is a GIFT.  A gift that should not be played or toyed with.  Frankly I am writing this to let the world know that I am in Love.  Love has been painful to me.  I was even at the point where I attempted to take my own life.  No one ever knew, and no one ever suspected until the day it happened.  I appeared to be happy to outsiders, but I was hurting inside.  That is when I really found out who my true friends were.  I can say today, I only have three whom I trust completely and believe that their snide comments are just for fun.  I am here for a reason today.  That reason, God has not shown me yet.  My life, due to love, has been a constant battle but I will not give up on it.  This is the second time I have let myself fall in love, and this time caught me by surprise.  This is indeed it for me.  If it so happens that things work themselves out, I will be the happiest guy in the world.  I have learned from my mistakes and the mistakes I made I want make them again (It reminds me of the song 'Treading Water').  I can honestly say, through all problems, where there is a will there is a way.  To the one I am in love with, I have selected the path you made me understand to walk on & waiting for you to choose. The day we met it was like a dream, our eyes locked and our souls beamed.  You gave me new hope, showed me what love really means.  I love to see the sparkling smile on your face and your emerald eyes gleam as a new morning’s sunrise.  Each time I see you, my heart skips a beat.  I accept you for who you are, not who you may have tried to be.  Yes, we have had our problems, but through it all we have been able to remain friends.  At one point, the sight of you made me feel like I was on top of the world, then things fall down and the sight of you brought me to tears.  Through all the pain, the problems, the struggles, the lies and deceit, you are my joy happiness.  Being with you makes my life complete.  Love is sacrifice.  Now, you can understand things from my point of view.  It was painful, and I cried writing this article but in some instance I am free.  Love, I believe, is the greatest feeling in this whole world.

Book Review- Master Of The Game By Sidney Sheldon

'Master of the Game' is a critically acclaimed and usually acknowledged as the best among the novels by Sidney Sheldon. It is a plot fabricated as intricately as a spider’s web.

It starts with Kate’s ninetieth birthday and then goes into flashback with Jamie McGregor’s hunt for diamonds and spans over six generations in the lives of the fictional McGregor/Blackwell family. The beginning of the plot is captivating but as the story moves on and the focus gets shifted to the daughter Kate and grand-daughters Eve and Alexandra it somehow loses a bit of its charm. It depicts the life and death, marriage and divorce, pain and suffering of all the characters along with some intimate scenes. The book closes abruptly at Kate’s ninetieth birthday with all her relatives present and even after manipulating, pleasing, loving, killing and hating the people around her for business she still feels she had acted proper.

It indicates the callousness and voracity of the people during the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. Similar to Sheldon’s other novels the plot is fast moving and story-line is thrilling but it is like the same gift being wrapped differently. Though lacking in a plot that moves you, read it for Sidney Sheldon’s ability to depict a picture with a kind of unique elegance that stays with you for a long time.

Success: Hardwork or Luck?

Success: It is because of hard work. Luck has nothing to do with it… Unfortunately it has!

I would like to ask you all, is hard work one of the most important factors when one succeeds? My take- Hard work is not the only key to an individual’s success. However, although one’s effort plays an important role in one’s success, luck is also a very crucial element. The statement that luck has nothing to do with success is not true. In fact, we can see the influence of luck everywhere in our lives.

The obvious influence of luck on people’s success is whether they can meet the good guiders who are helpful in every stage of life. A good guider can help people in getting achievements. In school, the guiders are our teachers. We can benefit a lot from a good teacher, such as knowledge, virtue and custom. When we go to work, the guiders may be our bosses or our colleagues. We can also benefit from a good boss or colleague, like working experience and professional knowledge. Without these good guiders, people need longer time to succeed.

There are many examples around us but finally, in many cases, luck itself decides the result of matters. We can see this very clearly from a blackjack game. It is very common that a smart person loses to a normal person. Although the smart one has the capacity to win and has taken efforts, it may lose only because of bad luck.

As a conclusion luck is also a very influential factor in one’s success just as hard work is. It not only decides our background of family and the people we meet but also decides the result of some matters directly. People cannot have gain, success etc. without good luck.

2(Too) Social 2(To) Social Media!

As the months turn into weeks and weeks turn into days, there is some kind of thinking that has started to take its rounds in my mind. Few more days and I am yet another year older. I will be 22 years on 10 Jan'13. :o

I am not sure if everyone undergoing this phase of their life experience the same, but this time, for me it is getting a bit tough to think that I am indeed getting old.

I have already started thinking "Rohit is getting old"! I now realise that there are younger people than me walking around on Mother Earth. A younger generation and already, there seems to be a generation gap between me and the young folks. Now, edging towards the later part of the glorious period of any individual, as I look back into my past and try to analyse all that has happened in this short span, I realise that there were times when I had been free of any worries or hassles. My only ones used to be to win a fight over my younger brother, getting a brand new PC from my dad, trying to achieve more in online gaming, become the super duper online gaming hero of school. Small things that used to mean a lot to me.

As I look at my long list of friends (Facebook says I have 1054 friends), I stop to wonder if I am really doing the right thing in having so many contacts or acquaintances. It seems as if there is some strange pair of eyes always following you. Now being a Social Media Marketing Executive at OML since past 7 months with social networking sites and the urge to notify your list of anything and everything that you do, I don’t think there is any privacy at all in one's life but yes it’s an essential ingredient for a better taste in modern life.

As I think about the role of friendships that have been a part of me and my life, I start to realise so many things. There have been people who have been selfish, who have not understood me. Those whom I had considered very close have betrayed me and gotten the better of me, just for the fact that I let them to, in the name of 'friendship'.

Some of them whom I have considered close to me haven't been the best as I believed them to be. And also, now I realise that those whom I have lost contacts with, are the ones whom I miss and will miss throughout the rest of my life. Those whom I dint have the slightest idea of getting to know have been the ones who have made me smile when I cried, who always stand behind me in my happiness and tough time.

At times, or rather, always, I wonder why I am into this career. Is this what I always wanted to be? What happened to all my childhood dreams? Those early morning dance practice, those big competitions, those dream of National performances, those funky dance teams, those beautiful ‘Shiamak Davar’ classes, those million memories that were washed ashore in this ocean of life. The dreams that meant so much to me had been brutally murdered and laid to wither. Not that I am not doing good in what I am doing now. But the sense of satisfaction is one that this life lacks in terms of career. Still I love my job, I enjoy it because I am at OML. Something which I always desired to do has been a dream and is going to stay a dream. To pursue the dream at this point of my life is gonna be tough (Not impossible) and sometimes even scary and that's the reason why somethings are better left unaccomplished.
There are so many things now that I have started to ponder upon. Things that have become opinionated, starting to analyse each and everything that I have done and will be doing. I realise there are so many limitations to my life and the way I want to live. I can’t take my own decisions and I can’t lead my own life. But I still have to live it.

I sometimes feel lonely and insecure. Even with the hundreds of loved voices that would always be more than willing to lend an ear to my woes. But the thought of talking to friends over the same things, moaning the same laments is something that I have started hating. As I think of all this and more, I badly want to relive my past, the past that is slowly and steadily drifting away from me.

I know I have got the best of life (I am working in OML) and also the worst of life, as I try hard to figure the hidden meaning of this precious thing called LIFE. All I can tell myself is 'Everything happens for a reason' as I start gathering those lost little pieces of ME and finding the answer to ‘Nothing… is what I have done in my life’.

MENtality Dismantled

The sickest of human species come under the category of Rapists for sure! I don’t get it with these weird creatures, there’s nothing human about them (the sick ones, I mean). They’re goddamn parasites that sink their teeth in the actual human species and even manage to make it look good.
Plagues, leprosy, even AIDS may get eradicated by miraculous breakthroughs in science and medicine, but maybe just a nuclear disaster can rid this planet of these parasitic rapists.
Yes, this is the session of ‘Ridiculous Rapists in Delhi this time’.
This time, they played their cards so well, I didn’t even know what hit me, how it hit me, when it hit me (yeah, but I do know why it hit me, its because I’m a freaking soft hearted moron who falls for sad, stupid, fake stories and crocodile tears, and uselessly good at heart) but it hit me, and it hit me good!
I had begun to believe ‘Delhi is Safest’ (successfully) but they needed me to get back on the scene. So, they acted their usual cheap lowlife self, and ruined the life of an innocent girl. I don’t want to make us sound like the complete lifeless losers that we are. But, what I have… we have… done to make OUR Delhi safe?
I was mad as hell, as mad as ‘Loony’ without ‘Toons’, as mad as ‘Dexter’ without ‘Lab’, as mad as Chapell and Ganguly must be at each other, after this news.
ASK Yourself: Is she the only one who was insecure? Are the ‘Rapists’ itself some victim of Moralophobia or some unidentified allergy to morals – or maybe the black hole sucked up their conscience when they were born?
Don’t just stand still, WRITE, DISCUSS & MAKE A CHANGE!

Desi Odyssey - KFC Fiery Tongue Sticky Situation

It was not long ago, when I had to go to the far South India for attending an event. I was with a lecturer of my college and a friend of him. Being a jovial person, I didn’t find it difficult to blend with both of them and by the time we boarded the Rajdhani Express from the New Delhi Station, it seemed as if I am with my own friends. But as the journey started, the problems began to show up.

Our seats were in different compartment and I had a passage seat. So, all 3 of us sat on my seat and I sat cross legged for exactly 6 hours and 15 minutes. I can never forget the timing. I tried to go to the other seat for relaxing but my sir said “No. Sit with us. Lets have a talk about this and why do you even want to go other seat? Are you getting bored??” now what could I have replied for that. So, I kept sitting and hearing them.

Luckily the night fell and we had our dinner and both of my companions went to sleep. The next day again brought the drudgery of sitting cross legged for many hours and finally, when we reached Vijaywada, I heaved a sigh of relief.

There, we were in a totally different world. Not only the appearance of the crowd of different, but the language they spoke, made us feel like aliens. But, at first, it seemed very adventurous.

As soon as we carried our luggage to the exit and tried to board an auto, we realized the kind of situation we were in. The auto driver asked us something I don’t know till date and we stood dumbfounded. Both of my companions were standing there silently, exchanging looks and I was thinking of what to do. Finally, I asked him only one word “Bus Stand?” and he said “40”. He loaded the auto and drove us to the bus stand.

There again, they were walking absentmindedly as if I was the one entrusted with the job of taking them to the venue, though it should have been the other way round. I asked my lecturer “Now?” and he said we take a bus. And they looked here and there and ranted about the difficulty we were facing, and actually, not trying to do anything. Then, I thought that I have to come forward and take the matter in my hands. I moved over to the enquiry counter and asked the lady regarding the buses and she told me the platform number where I can find the buses. I thanked her and moved to the platform.

Well, we reached the venue and finally attended the event for two days and then went shopping for our friends and family. I was contemplating over the sweet memories I had made on my way back to Vijaywada, when in the bus, my companion’s phone rang and we got the disastrous news that the ticket of not even a single person was confirmed.

The moment I listened it, it appeared as if the whole world, the earth, the rickety bus we were travelling in, everything had come to a halt. I was so far from my home, with no train ticket and with two companions who didn’t even know from where to ask regarding the bus even, what to talk of handling this situation.

I was trying to find some solution for this problem, when I saw that both of them were sleeping in their seats as if nothing has happened and it was only I who was in problem. I am not much of a praying soul but I said a prayer to God silently and anyhow passed the journey to the station.

As we reached the station, we took a general ticket and thought that we will pay the fine for that after sitting in the train. The train reached and we entered the first AC compartment we found. Everybody was sleeping as the time was 2.00 am and we tried to find a vacant seat to at least sit. We luckily got a birth above the passage seat and another one nearby. One of my companions went to sleep on one seat and I and my lecturer sat on the other.

Finally, the TT came and I asked my lecturer to go and talk to him if he can help us out. He walked off with a great difficulty and talked to him. TT was shrewd. He didn’t give him any satisfactory reply and sent him back. He again tried to negotiate with him but all in vain.

Then, I thought that this is so not going to work and finally, I went to talk to TT. He didn’t even want to listen to me. He was moving from this seat to that, form one compartment to other, and I was ranting about my situation and he was constantly ignoring me.

I then realized the missing ingredient of the concoction and asked “I need a birth. What do you need?” and he grinned. I cursed him in my heart and repeated my question. He walked towards his own seat and finally sat down and tried to find something in the ticketing charts. He said 1000 bucks for a seat and that too would be available from Bhopal only which was about 10 to 12 hours away.

I was shocked at the shrewdness of that mongrel and amazed the way he said this in a matter of factly tone.  I tried to negotiate with him but all in vain. The biggest barrier was the language. He spoke very less English and I didn’t know Telugu. So, I was stuck. But I knew that once missed, this opportunity would never come again.
So, I told him to wait while I go and bring the money.

While I was going back, I thought that I am not going to let him enjoy my money so easily. Then, an idea struck my mind. I went back and paid him 500 bucks, and said that I will pay him the remainder at New Delhi station as this is the only money I was left with. He refused to take it and said that who will know if I get away without paying him. I tried to convince him a lot and finally said “Ok sir, you give me the ticket and the birth, for my companions only and I will sit with you only, all the time and then I will descend the train at Delhi with you only and give you the remainder.

Meanwhile, if you still don’t trust me, keep my wallet with all my IDs and ATM cards.” He was left with a dilemma, but my offer seemed genuine and he agreed to it. Finally, I got a birth on which I stationed my two companions and told them that I have a seat in other compartment and we will meet at Delhi station, and went to sit with the TT.

He didn’t talk to me at first and gave me sideways glances every now and then. But I kept on trying to indulge him into a conversation and finally, as the journey advanced, we had a lively colloquy set in. I gave me another advantage. The best food in the pantry was served to him and being with him, I also got it. Owing to the checking of the tickets at various stations, he wasn’t able to sleep. So, took the advantage again and asked him to go to sleep if he wanted and I will wake him up after every stoppage, so that he can check the tickets. Till that time, he had developed some faith in me and went to sleep. I woke him up whenever necessary and by the time we reached Delhi, we had made friends.

The train reached New Delhi station at 6.00 am and he looked at me with brightened eyes as now he was going to get the remainder amount. He said “everything else is fine, but I think that you have not forgotten you promise” to which I replied “No No sir. How could I? don’t worry I have called my friend and he is standing there on the platform near the display showing B1 bogie number ready with the money. Let me just give him a miss call.” And I called a number and had a little talk regarding my bogie number and some other stuff. He got assured and as the train halted, I made him descend the train first, so that he doesn’t think that I am going to run away. We both descended and found my friend. As he was about to take the money, two persons appeared from nowhere and grasped the hands of that TT. That was vigilance department team. I had called my friend from the train and told him about the situation, and to be there ready with the vigilance team. As a proof I had sent him the voice recording and the photos of me giving the TT 500 bucks. At the station, the vigilance team caught him red handed and I gave them another voice recording of him asking for the money.

The vigilance team charged me also with the fine of 200 bucks for travelling with a general ticket in an AC compartment and returned me all other amount. We left the TT to their disposal and walked off the station with my companions.

While we were descending the staircase, my companions asked me how was my travel to which I replied that I enjoyed the travel having the best of the food, in the best of the seat and having a quality conversation with another traveler.

In this way, not only I got out of the tiresome company of my companions, but got a birth without giving any money, really had the best meal of pantry, and got my work done with the shrewd TT that would surely had taught him a lesson.

After reaching home, when my parents asked me how the trip was, I said “All was well.”

Blue Film Can Turn You Blue - KFC Fiery Tongue Sticky Situation

When I look back to my childhood days at my clandestine juvenile deeds, I laugh over them. This retrospection brings me to a conclusion, that I am equally scared of being caught at my surreptitious undertakings even today.
I am doubtful if Childhood is innocent but Children are undoubtedly curious.
So Behind the drape of this innocence one day we children decided to put an end to our curiosity.

I was in class nine when I and my two friends Mahak and Tamana were in the name of combined studies doing the Gtalk aka girls talk at my home on Sunday. After we were short of topics to discuss, which was the rarest of chance, Tamana interjected, “hey let me show you something girls” she said as she took out science book from her bag, flipped through its pages and picked up a CD between her thumb and fingers.

“Guess what’s in it?” she said rotating the disk.

“What?” I and Mahak said together.

“It’s a blue film” she said.

“What?” I said equally out of surprise and happiness.

“Yes” she said in self-appreciation.
“Where did you get this from?” Mahak asked with eyes wide open.

“Jatin gave me” she said. Jatin was our senior in school who Tamana was recently seeing.

“How is a blue film? What is exactly shown in it?” I asked innocently brimming with curiosity.

“I don’t know. I haven’t seen it yet. He has given this to me just today only.” She said.

“Can we watch it now?” asked Mahak looking at me.

I was floored. “Now? At my home?” I shouted in a low tone.

“Yes” she said.

“The computer is not working.” I said. By the way, it was actually not working.

“Oh!” both sighed in regret.

We all cooled down and looked back in our text books. The idea of watching a blue film was so fascinating to me that I myself was thinking of a way to watch it anyhow.

Apart from three of us only papa was at home. I heard him snoring and idea clicked my mind.

“I have an idea. We can watch it on TV.” I said to them.

“Really?” Tamana jumped out of the bed.

“I’ll bolt papa’s room and then we can watch it.” I said.

“Ok” they both agreed.

I went into papa’s room with cat feet to make sure that he was sleeping. I came out and bolted the door.

Things were peaceful now. It was now time to take feel of a movie. So I went into the kitchen and prepared “act 2” popcorns while they were busy starting the DVD. A bowl of popcorns, three glasses of cold drink and three friends on a couch; a perfect audience for a perfect movie! It was now time to press the play button.

“Ready gals” I said.

Bang! Bang!

“Open the door, open the door” papa was shouting from the room and banging the door hard.

“Papa” I jumped off the sofa with eyes wide open.

“Open the door” he was shouting from inside.

“Finish your cold drink quickly, switch off the TV. and take the popcorns in the room” I said to them with my teeth clenched. Now even cold drink could have been taken inside the room with popcorns but generally only half a mind works in such situations.

Papa’s appeal to open the door was getting louder and my heartbeat too.
Finally TV was off; glasses were in the kitchen and both of them in my room with pop-corns.

I unbolted the door.

“What was going on?” papa asked with his eyes red.

“Nothing papa” I said trying to be innocent.

“Why was my room bolted?” he asked.

“I don’t know” I said.

“It got bolted itself?” he said scoffing at it.

“Oh! Yes, I bolted it.” I said posing to memorise. “Actually I was getting chips from the kitchen and dishes were causing mayhem in the kitchen. I thought you might get disturbed by the sound, so I bolted.” I said not knowing if he’d be convinced by such a lame reason.

He looked at me but didn’t say anything. He walked and sat on the sofa.
“Put the TV on” he said.

I switched the TV on and saw that had we never turned the DVD player off.
“Oh! Why is this player on?” I said to myself loud enough for papa to know why I was bending down.

“Don’t turn it off. Let it be on. I’ll watch a movie” he said.

“Which movie papa? I’ll put the CD” I said like an obedient daughter.

“You go and study. I’ll see myself” he said as he got up.

“You sit papa, I’ll put it for you” I said.

“You go and study. I’ll manage” he said. He was standing at my head now.

Oh god! I got no idea what to do. I saw Mahak peeping from the door and having maths book in her hand.

“Papa, before you start the movie, we have a maths problem. Can you solve it?” I asked.

“Bring it.” He said.

“Mahak, give the book to papa” I said. Mahak looked blankly at me and stood stupefied.

“Mahak, papa will solve that problem of circles. Give him the book”

“Oh yes!” she finally understood. We walked to him and handed over the book.
“Pen? Paper?” he said.

“I’ll bring” I said.

I went inside the room and picked up a pen and notebook.

I deliberately took a long path to reach papa by crossing the TV stand. I dropped the notebook just near the TV. and I bent down to pick the notebook i.e. get the CD out the DVD player. As I was about to press the “open” button, the light went off.

No use of using the long way. I picked up the notebook and reached papa. While papa was explaining the question the electricity was back. The question was over and he relaxed on the couch putting his hands behind his head looking at the TV.

I held Mahak’s hand and made her walk to TV and I again dropped the notebook. It was repetitive but nothing else I could think off. We both bent down. Two people were enough to cover the DVD player so that papa can’t see what’s going on.

I quickly took out the CD.

“Keep it in the book” whispered Mahak.

“Shhh..” I said. I slid it inside my pullover tucking it to the waist of my jeans.
I knew my father. “Bring me the book.” He said. “I’ll tell you which the important questions are.”

Thank god we didn’t hide it in the book. I stood behind mahak so that papa doesn’t even make out anything hard on my belly.

The question was over.

And see the fun, His mood changed and now he was watching news.

We came back to the room and took a long sigh of relief.

“Keep your CD.” I threw the CD at Tamana who was sitting on my bed. “I will not even think of watching a blue film again. I have myself turned blue out of nervousness.”

She kept the CD back into her school bag. It was next day caught by our class teacher in school. What happened with her then is all together a different story.
But after watching a blue film now I know watching people doing sex isn’t worth the fear I went through that day but…Doing is definitely worth it.

Two bodies, a soul (I and my C Pro)

This isn’t a love tale, neither a book by some author nor a film story. It’s a journey and you all on board and I am your captain! “HI 5 READERS!” J

Well! I think no apprehension should be shaped. So, let’s roll the two bodies a soul!

Like a block of ice, that December night (3 am,), terminals (Semester exams) on head, backache+ painful eyes+ no sleep + full syllabus for last night. I shouted-“Fcuk you all mathematicians!” and I closed my math manuscript! I switched on my small screen, Star World broadcasting “FRIENDS”. I calmed myself in front of it with a beer mug filled with espresso. Mistakenly the channel scanner was hard-pressed by me and the inspection was in progress. I stopped the scan, some murmuring was there “I TOUCH, I TEXT, I DO IT ALL”, some Samsung mobile commercial was there. I was fascinated at its first prospect, it was about to put on view the name of the mobile suddenly espresso was on my hand “Crap!”

I turned off the TV box and went back to studies, thanking God for the winters as my burn was fine after the espresso attack! That commercial, that sliding phone was on my mind whole night.

I slept around 6 am with the resolution to search out that sensational cell phone today! I was out from my bed around 11 am and made my CPU fan to rotate. I surfed; Dr. Google helped me to explore that Samsung thing. I was out of words, I got what I dreamt – A Slide, A Touch, A QWERTY A WIFI. I found a CORBY PRO!

5th Jan 2010

Brother called me-“So Mr. R Rajpal! What about exams? 10th Jan your birthday right? What do you crave?”

After official procedure I yelled-“Samsung Corby PRO!”

Brother- “DONE!”

I pinched myself, it wasn’t a dream! I was dancing with joy but bothered about the exam on 9th. Exam over, I reached to brother’s place for the party on 9th and also I fĂȘted my birthday next day with them! I was waiting for my PRO but brother forgot to bring as he was hell busy in office work! I was with wrecked heart, bro. promised me-“I will get it to you as soon as possible!”

I was back to college, exams dint make me hark back the phone but still it was there secreted in mind. Exams over I asked for the phone but there was a broken heart for a second time! I kept dreaming for it each and every day and was happy with it!

7th June

My next terminals were over; I rushed to bro.’s place for summer training. I had reunion with my old schoolmates and it can’t be described in words. I was with my lovely nephew and I kept reminding my bro. for the phone! :D

25th July 2010

It was the day; I was full of joy as bro. decided this day for the cell phone. We went to SAMSUNG MOBILE sec-18 NOIDA. The CORBY PRO was in my hand (A big thanks to bro. and bhabhiji), it was like Mr. Gates had signed his WILL credentials and had named all his riches to me! As we went out of the shop, I was ordered to handle the C Pro to bhabhiji as her SIM card was IN! She went to WESTSIDE and I was with bro. to RUBY TUESDAY for dinner. I kept waiting for bhabhiji to come so that I can figure out my love(My Corby PRO)! Finally she entered to RT after 30 minutes which were like 30000 minutes to me, Bhabhiji-“Here you go Mr. RR”. I touched, I texted I did it all! I captured the Ruby Tuesday‘s offers as my first click on the cell…

“TE AMO my Corby Pro.”

Love You All!
